WELCOME to the new SWOTL Web Site Guestbook!

I've copied the entries from the old 2002 guestbook on AOL just to get things started here.
We'll all be looking forward to seeing that the rest of you have to say as well!

I played BoB Tfh and loved it. I also had SWOTL. They were my first flight sims. I could never get them to work in Win95 so I gave them away. Great games. Glad to see someone is "keeping the faith"

Just found the new site, hadn't been here for several months and very glad the old girl is still going. I still use a dedicated 386 for BOB and SWOTL (might try a P233 like Richard does - I've got a spare one around somewhere). I always keep coming back to SWOTL mainly even after buying and using the new wizz bang 3D sims on my main xp1700/GF3ti200. The new games don't seem to be as replayable or as much fun any more. SWOTL can be played forever. Keep up the support all you SWOTL people.

I dearly loved SWOTL. Nothing has equaled it yet. I haven't played it in the years since Bill "the dirtbag" Gates intorduced WIN 95 and subsequent operating systems that won't allow it to run anymore. That is one way of getting a great product off the market in order to sell his own sub standard product.

Ugh, quite a long time since some time, and such a great news of the SWOTL sequel... ;] The only qestion is it going to be good enough these days to handle the quality of SWOTL1 back in 1991? Let's hope so ;]

Richard - again and again great site, thank you for keeping it alive ;]

Loved the CD Rom version (knew nothing of the problems it had) Up graded my 486 to a 32 speed CD, and found that the CD vibrated so much it wouldn't work, loved the game so much that I even tried to dynamicly balance the CD! - to no avail.

found your site, after several years - I forgot the name was SWOTL.
Am now a little disapointed to find that it does not work that well with new faster 'puters - which I now have.
Looking foward to the next release 2003.

Regards,
AS

Listen people: We've had some good WW2 sims so far since 1991 - IL2 Sturmovik for example very lately, many others in between deserving true 'flight-sim' category!... But still..!:

The SWOTL was and is the only one title that kicks ass on and on! Dunno why ;DDD!
Let's hope the SWOTL2 will be another breakthru!
And if not we still have the original SWOTL to play! :P

I'm amazed people made so many planes and patches for SWOTL. I now play European Air War (with all the mods) since it is the only game I've found as good as the ol' SWOTL and TFH:BOB(my favourite). If only game designers would realise that some people like to sit in gun turrets and some people also like a large variety of less famous planes to fly. But now I'm going to try out some of your goodies and mods. I keep a couple of 486's handy for the old games. Time to dig out the 5 1/4" floppies. Good to see good games still being honoured. Cheers >:)

Thanks for the SWOTL website. Decided to try to play my favorite game again and even bought a older laptop and loaded DOS 6.2 on it to have a compatible machine again. I had used the CDROM version on my old 386 and it ran just great. Copied the CD ROM files onto 3.5 floppies and loaded it on the laptop, but it just says "Run SWOTL from the CDROM" Look like your downloads will help fix that problem. Thanks!

I've been hanging onto my copy (CD ROM)of "SWOTL" every since 1993 when I got it. In 1995 I bought a new computer with win 95. I have not played it since. It would not play on on a 486DX2 50 mhz. running win 95. I have been hoping I would find a way to play it again, I realy enjoyed the game. But now that I've found a web sight, it seams as though my cd (game) is useless. I've been holding on to it for nothing. "WOW" that hurts. Thanks anyway.

Great site! I bought CFS and was disappointed to find out that so many features I took for granted in SWOTL and TFH were not picked up by M$. Bombers and gunner positions therein; making aces and assigning them as wingmen; dynamic campaign... I agree with most of the posts re: SWOTL 2 and especially with the opinion that a "post-1945-what-if" type game following one bogus "character" of a hokey "elite special unit" is not what I want. Hopefully the sequel will not disappoint those, like myself, feel that SWOTL was on the right track and should be updated for graphics, AI, and damage models. And someone please teach the auto-gunners deflection shooting!! Thanks for the site and the opportunity to rant- Cheers,

Angus

swol was the best game ever made ! i´ve played this game for years ! the b17 was nice, the german secret weapons were very nice ! i liked the go229 sooooo much ;) ! but even the b17 was great, with all the gunners positions !

also the easy to use, editor was great and the campaign-mode, and and and...
well i hope a swotl2 will really come !
all other flight-sims are shit ! cfs 1-3 was boring and shit, eaw was also not very good, also all the other ww2 flight games, that were released after swotl !

Hey - At one time I became so inspiredby thsi game, and particularly by the ME 163 rocket fighter i managed - thru the internet in 1994 - to contact a couple of Luftwaffe veterans who had actually flown the rocket fighter in combat against American and Russian bombers. These were Rudi "Pitz" Opitz, and Wolfgang Spate. Spate and i wrote several letters and he told me a lot about hsi expereince in the war. He signed his book about the me163 for me "Top Secret Bird". These guys are probably all dead now. If you ever want to read his letters I can send you a PDF of them,.
